Linden, Michigan

The City of Linden is a vibrant community that takes pride in its historic charm. Forming around our present downtown at the intersection of Bridge and Broad, the Village of Linden was established in 1871, with structures dating back to 1840. We have grown from a village into a well-established city (1988), home to a population of about 4,000 residents and many thriving small shops, restaurants, and local businesses. Whether you are visiting our community or looking for a place to call home, Linden is a great place to live, learn, work, and play.

The heart of our city is the Linden Mills building, an historic treasure sitting on the bank of the Shiawassee River, dating back to the pre-civil war era. The Mill currently houses our public library, a unique collection of artifacts pertaining to Linden’s history, as well as our City Council Chambers. Across the River from the Mill building sits a picturesque park that is home to the Linden Mill Pond Gazebo. The park and gazebo area is a popular location for outdoor weddings and summertime events, including Music by the Mill, a summer concert series. Up the street from the Mill building stands City Hall, where the day to day business of the City takes place.
